About Us
Meet Tristan & Sarah
We’re Tristan and Sarah Martin, the husband-and-wife vet team behind Battersea Square Vets. Between us, we have over 40 years of experience in general practice and emergency veterinary care.
We met while studying veterinary medicine at Cambridge over 20 years ago, and we’ve been working together ever since. We’re now married with three children, and proud to say our clinic is genuinely family owned and run. If you’re already a client, you may have met our children helping out in the clinic!
Both of us work in the clinic, so you’ll always know which vet you’re seeing, and we believe that continuity matters.
Tristan leads the clinical side of the practice and performs all our keyhole spays. He has a special interest in diagnosing skin lumps, as well as treating ear and skin conditions.
Sarah oversees the practice management side of the clinic, alongside her clinical work. Her main interests lie in general medicine, chronic pain management, and acupuncture.
We’re both Official Vets (OVs), and Tristan is an OV66, which means we can issue EU and international travel documents for your pet if you're planning a trip abroad.
We set up Battersea Square Vets to offer something personal: a clinic where your pet is seen by people who know them, and where you’re looked after by a team who genuinely care.

Get to know us
At Battersea Square Vets, we know that choosing a vet is an important decision. We want to share honestly why local pet owners are choosing us, and what we stand for.
We’re an independent, family-run practice focused on providing personal, thoughtful care for every pet and their owner.
Here’s what sets us apart:
• Independent and owner-led
We’re an independent clinic run by vets, not a corporate chain. The virtue of this is that every decision we make is guided by what’s genuinely best for your pet, not by business targets. You’ll see the same dedicated team each time, helping to build trust and personal connection.
• Transparent pricing and open advice
We believe in clear communication about costs and treatment options. You’ll always know what to expect, and we’re happy to talk through all choices openly; no hidden surprises or pushy sales.
• Continuity and personal care
Seeing the same team at each visit helps us get to know your pet as an individual. Even though we’re new, our goal is to support you and your pet long-term, building that relationship from day one.
• Holistic and flexible approach
Alongside excellent medical and surgical care, we offer options like acupuncture to support your pet’s overall wellbeing. This allows us to tailor our approach to what suits your pet and your preferences best.
• Community-focused mindset
We’ve chosen Battersea as our home for the practice because we value being part of a vibrant local community. We’re committed to being approachable, friendly, and supportive to pets and owners in the area.
Even as a new practice, our mission is to create a welcoming space where you feel confident, informed, and truly listened to. If you’d like to find out more or see if we’re the right fit for you, we’re always happy to have an open, no-pressure chat.
