Accessible Clinic

Inclusive, Individual Care

We believe veterinary care should be accessible, respectful, and inclusive; for both pets and the people who care for them.

Everyone has their own needs, and we’re committed to creating a welcoming environment for all.

Whether that means a quieter appointment for a nervous dog, extra time to talk things through, or support for neurodiverse clients or those with mobility challenges, we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

If you or your pet have additional needs, let us know. We’re here to listen and adapt.

Wheelchair accessible procedure area and kennels

Our purpose-built clinic was designed with all of our clients in mind, two and four-legged for comfort, access, and inclusion.

From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel welcome, comfortable, and fully involved in your pet’s care.

We offer:

  • A wheelchair-accessible consult room, procedure area, and patient kennels

  • Step-free access throughout the building

If you have any specific access needs or would like extra time or assistance during your visit, just let us know when booking. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you.

Supporting your individual needs

We know that visiting the vet can feel overwhelming, especially if you have additional needs. We’re here to help make your experience as comfortable and accessible as possible.

We warmly welcome neurodiverse clients and understand that veterinary visits can sometimes feel overwhelming or stressful. Whether you’re autistic, ADHD, or have other neurodivergent traits, we’ll do our best to make the experience as calm, clear, and comfortable as possible.

You might need:

  • A step-by-step walk through (either verbal or written) of what will happen with the visit or a procedure

  • A longer appointment to give you more time to ask questions

  • Written summaries after your visit to help with processing information

  • Clear, step-by-step explanations during consultations

  • A quiet time of day for your visit

  • A calm waiting area, or the option to wait outside or in your car, we have nearby on-street parking

  • Follow-up information by email/WhatsApp instead of a phone call

  • Time to adjust to the clinic environment

  • Support with communication or decision-making

  • The option to have a support person with you

  • Our spaces all have soft-lighting, so you can also choose to avoid bright lights while you are waiting

Please let us know what works best for you, either when booking or ahead of your appointment. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you, without any judgement or pressure.

Veterinary care should feel safe, respectful, and accessible to everyone. If there’s something we can do to support you, we’re listening.

Supporting pets with additional needs

Some pets find vet visits a bit more challenging; and that’s completely okay.

They be naturally nervous, may have an unknown backgroud, especially if they are a rescue, or may have had a bad experience at another clinic.

Our clinic is a calm, comforting space where pets feel safe, and owners feel reassured.

We’re here to make things easier, whether your pet is anxious, reactive, older, or has specific medical or behavioural needs.

We can offer:

  • Longer or quieter appointments to reduce stress

  • Calmer times of day for visits (less noise and fewer people)

  • Separate waiting areas or the option to wait outside or in your car

  • Gentle handling techniques and a low-stress approach

  • Drop-in option to visit us and get used us and the environment

  • Staged visits, for example one nail cut at a time if your pet is very nervous about having their feet touched

  • Time for your pet to settle into the environment before their exam

  • Familiar team members for repeat visits

  • Tailored care for pets with chronic conditions, disabilities, or mobility issues

  • Extra support for pets who don’t like other animals or new environments

If your pet has a history of being nervous or struggling with vet visits, let us know when you book. We’ll work with you to find the most comfortable way forward, because every pet deserves kind, thoughtful care.

A big thank you to our lovely client Catherine, who kindly agreed to be photographed to help us show our wheelchair accessibility in action!
